IFTA: Points and Line Chart - A New Type of Chart to Get Strong and Clear Signal

About the Presentation
Moha­med will make a pre­sen­ta­ti­on on his Mas­ter of Finan­cial Tech­ni­cal Ana­ly­sis (MFTA) the­sis, Points and Line Chart. He will demons­tra­te how to draw his simp­lest pri­ce chart that only uses points and a line. The chart has the merit of maxi­mi­zing the bene­fits of the point and figu­re chart using its fil­tra­ti­on cri­te­ria but at the same time will have the line chart advan­ta­ges inclu­ding smoot­hed trend dis­play, the use of clo­sing pri­ce, pri­ce pat­terns, and trend lines. What is very bril­li­ant about this type of chart is adding volu­me, time (or num­ber of days), app­ly­ing tech­ni­cal indi­ca­tors, moving aver­a­ges and oscillators.

About the Presenter
Moha­med Ashraf is Chief Tech­ni­cal Ana­lyst for CI-Capi­tal; the whol­ly-owned invest­ment bank of the Com­mer­cial Inter­na­tio­nal Bank (CIB), Egypt's lar­gest pri­va­te-sec­tor com­mer­cial bank. Pri­or to this he was the Head of the Tech­ni­cal Ana­ly­sis desk for Dyna­mic Secu­ri­ties Bro­kera­ge Com­pa­ny - CI-Capi­tal member.

He ser­ves curr­ent­ly as a board mem­ber and Vice Pre­si­dent for the Midd­le East and Afri­ca regi­on in the Inter­na­tio­nal Fede­ra­ti­on of Tech­ni­cal Ana­lysts (IFTA). He also ser­ves as a board mem­ber in the Egyp­ti­an Socie­ty of Tech­ni­cal Ana­lysts (ESTA), and an edu­ca­ti­on com­mit­tee mem­ber in ESTA.

Moha­med gra­dua­ted from the facul­ty of Eco­no­mics & Poli­ti­cal Sci­ence, Cai­ro Uni­ver­si­ty. He is a Cer­ti­fied ESTA Tech­ni­cal Ana­lyst (CETA), a Cer­ti­fied Finan­cial Tech­ni­ci­an (CFTe) and holds a Mas­ter of Finan­cial Tech­ni­cal Ana­ly­sis (MFTA) from IFTA.
